The Jigsaw Server is the W3C's reference server for the HTTP protocol. Jigsaw also supports the Java Servlet API for
hosting web applications. Completely written in Java, Jigsaw was one of
the first servlet hosts that could be used on any major platform. Due
to its stabilitiy, excellent performance, scalability and
platform-independence, we have been using Jigsaw for many years for nearly all
our intranet web applications and products, e.g. Infreq90 and Infport43.
Example of Jigsaw's stability and performance: Infreq90
is a security product used by many governmental organizations and law enforcement agencies in Germany. This
application complies with the 24/7 availablility requirement, serving up to severeal
thousand concurrent users in some installations.
Infport43
is used by major telephone companies in the
German marketplace for enabling local number portability. This
product also satisfies mission critical availability requirements, enabled by using
Jigsaw as the servlet engine.
Finally, we use Jigsaw for various web
applications developed for the telco market and health
care organizations. Due to its ease of use, Jigsaw even replaced
existing application server platforms in some customer infrastructures.
Apart
from using Jigsaw, Dialogika supports open source activities.
Some Dialogika staff participate directly in Jigsaw development.
Thus, industry requirements like a reliable security
infrastructure for the Jigsaw server result in efforts which
benefit the entire open source community.
