Ange Bleu

Although the resulting consolidated documents are not legally binding, they facilitate legislation-related activity by highlighting all textual modifications in the documents and supplementing them with information stored in a database. In all, over 2,000 legislative acts with a total of 10,000 document versions have been managed by the system since it was created.

The basic system consisted of an MS Word app for editing the documents, and a series of smaller MS Access applications that were being used as an input mask for an Oracle database.

The goal of the first project phase involving DIaLOGIKa was to port the MS Word application from VBA to VB.NET, along with a thorough reworking of the program code. This entailed performing a deep analysis of the MS Access apps, and, by creating various specification documents, laying the foundation for porting this application to Java. The actual porting of the MS Access applications was performed by the customer themselves.

In follow-up projects, the MS Word application Ange Bleu was extended with a number of new functionalities to make meta-knowledge stored in the databases available to the users and to automate some recurring workflows. Further, DIaLOGIKa took over maintenance and further development of the Java-based web/backend applications, and developed another new Java/web application for managing supplemental documents, integrating it into the Ange Bleu system.
